Round one- 16 Pick- Orlando Brown Jr- OT- Oklahoma

Name sound familiar? It should as his pops, Orlando Brown Sr. also known as Zeus was a Raven before, who had two stints with the organization. Brown Jr, standing at 6’8 350 lbs sure emulates his late father. Brown, a two-time first team Big 12 selection the last two seasons, and an All-American in 2017 would be a steal at the 16 slot. I know what most Raven fans are thinking: We want a  wide receiver in the first round! But quite frankly, The Ravens played themselves out of all the big name wide outs in college football, again.

In the movie The Blindside, one of the more memorable quotes was: “The first bill you pay is the mortgage, the second is the insurance.” Its about that time The Ravens take out another insurance policy on Joe Flacco. Getting him a young, consistent, massive Tackle will undoubtedly further his career. If the front office wants to see a better passing game, they won’t pass on Brown. He’s been one of most consistent pass blocking tackles in the Nation the last two years. Just ask Baker Mayfield and Lincoln Riley. What’s the point of drafting receivers if the quarterback doesn’t have the time to manipulate defenses with his eyes?

A lot of scouting reports will tell you he won’t be able to handle speed rushers at the next level, due to his size. Go watch the tape vs Ohio State. Nick Bosa, The Smith-Brown Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year award winner, couldn’t register a sack vs Brown (He did however register one vs the Center in the game). One of the nations best pass rushers and most likely a lock to go at the top of the first round next year like his big brother, couldn’t do much lined up against Brown.

An Offensive Line that consists of Ronnie Stanley, Marshal Yanda, Ryan Jensen, Alex Lewis and Orlando Brown Jr. is definitely a line a Quarterback can feel comfortable behind.
