Justin Tucker is a great kicker. Statistically he is the most accurate kicker in NFL History. Tucker is awesome at his job, and when it is all said and done, he could be the best kicker of all-time.

What if I told you that Justin Tucker was even better than you thought he was. Tucker is a very accurate kicker who has made 90.2% of his career field goal attempts. He has never missed an extra point which is more impressive than it used to be.

Tucker is seemingly less accurate on kicks over 50 yards (He’s made 33 of 47 attempts) but you also have to remember the Ravens trot him out for some ridiculous attempts. Tucker is the most accurate kicker from deep in the NFL. He was 10-10 from beyond 50 in 2016. He went five for seven in 2017 from post 50 yard range.

Tucker has made a 61 yard field goal before, it was a game winner in Detroit during the 2013 season. The Ravens know that Tucker’s leg is unrivaled so they have asked him to kick some rather long field goals. Tucker is all for it. There probably has never been a field goal that he didn’t think was going through the uprights. However if you took out the attempts closer to 60 yards, he’d have way more impressive statistics.

Tucker is the greatest kicker of all-time if he can continue making field goals at this pace. He has missed four field goals in the past two seasons. His only miss in 2016 was a blocked field goal. He’s 205-205 on extra points and the NFL moved back the extra point in 2015. If he retires without missing an extra point, it would be far from surprising.

Tucker is simply the best:

Tucker has scored 877 points and it has only been since 2012 that these impressive feats began. Morten Anderson kicked from 1982-2007 and he compiled 2,544 points and is the NFL’s all-time leading scorer. I don’t think any kicker will ever want to catch him, but Tucker may be the only one who could. If Tucker repeats his performance every six seasons, it will take him just 12 more seasons to catch Anderson. For a kicker, that is very possible.

Adam Vinateiri has historic kicks that up his resume. How do you beat the kick against the Raiders, in the snow? Tucker has some historical kicks as well. The game winner against the Denver Broncos in the 2012 playoffs was impressive because the weather was brutally cold. The 61 yard game winner was unforgettable as well. Tucker is as good as any kicker there has ever been and has a chance to build the most impressive resume ever.

In an earlier post I mentioned how Tucker is the coolest kicker of all-time. That was less of a historical look. Today, I ask has the ever been a better kicker? I don’t think there has been. When Tucker is retired and maybe even a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee (a tough ask for kickers) he will be remembered as the best kicker in the sport’s history.
