4. Marquise Brown

A top-end edge rusher will always be more important than an X-receiver. However, Marquise Brown’s higher investment has me believing that the Ravens have higher hopes and standards for the 22-year old receiver.

When discussing Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, the first thing that comes to mind is speed. Brown couldn’t run at the 2019 NFL Combine due to a nagging foot injury, but it seems likely that he would’ve run in the low 4.3 range, maybe even in the 4.2s. This injury (Lisfranc) has some wondering how much he can contribute as a rookie and even what is career path looks like right now…

Regardless, Baltimore has big plans in store for the shifty Brown. During his days with the Oklahoma Sooners, Brown was constantly torching defensive backs and making highlight reel plays on a weekly basis. With the Ravens, we’d imagine it would be more of the same.

Pairing up Brown with Lamar Jackson gives the offense an unreal amount of speed and athleticism. There’s hope that Jackson-to-Brown could be the next Joe Flacco-to-Torrey Smith. Brown is the key to Baltimore’s passing attack and the organization is hoping he can be the best receiver they’ve ever seen.

There’s little doubt that Marquise Brown doesn’t have the talent and upside to be just that. The ceiling for this kid is Brandin Cooks; not too shabby of a comparison if he matches his potential. As of right now the Ravens see him as their franchise wide receiver and best friend to Lamar Jackson.
