7. Patrick Mekari:

Mekari is in a weird spot. He is a player who has gotten reps with the first team in practice. He has impressed as an undrafted free agent. Everything is possible for Mekari, from getting a starting job to getting cut. What works to his advantage is that he plays left guard. That is the position that the Ravens don’t have a lot to be confident in. Mekari needs to have a solid performance against the Eagles.

6. Jaylon Ferguson:

Jaylon Ferguson is raw and the preseason confirmed that as a fact. The third round pick from Louisiana Tech, needs to take positive steps forward. When the light clicks for Ferguson, he is going to be a dangerous weapon for the defense. Ferguson should strive to get his first sack tonight. He has yet to have a big moment in the preseason. That has to be frustrating for a player who earned the nickname “Sack Daddy” in college.

5. Cyrus Jones

One key to the Ravens defense is finding the right player to be the nickel cornerback. Jones is first in line to earn that job with the defense. Jones entered the preseason thinking that his punt return abilities were his best way to make the roster. Jones now has to be an important defensive back for the purple and black. Jones has to give Don Martindale a reason to keep lining him up over the slot receiver.
