The Baltimore Ravens roster was mostly formed before the preseason. We had a good hunch of who would be included on the 53 man roster coming into training camp. There were some names that dropped off during the preseason. Shane Ray went from a player the Ravens were excited to sign, to a roster cut just about everyone would agree with. Jermaine Eluemunor was traded to the Patriots and that changes things for the offensive line.

The were several big decisions with my roster projection, that admittedly could go either way. I have Kenneth Dixon making the team. Unless he is traded he should be in the mix. The Ravens want to run the ball a lot and Dixon has big play potential with every carry. They don’t have to lean on him, but they can get production out of the former Louisiana Tech star.

On this roster projection I added two undrafted free agents. I couldn’t say goodbye to Patrick Mekari or Otaro Alaka. The Eluemunor trade gave Mekari more importance on the 53 man roster. Alaka really just earned the roster spot. It came down to three players for me. I wanted to find a roster spot for Gerald Willis, Bennett Jackson and Alaka. Jackson would get lost in this incredible safety depth. Willis wasn’t that impressive in training camp. Alaka completely earned the roster spot and he should be a good special teams contributor.
