5. Earl Thomas and Chuck Clark:

The elite talent the Ravens have at the cornerback position would almost be wasted if they didn’t have great talent at the safety position. Earl Thomas is a Pro Bowl safety with a lot of range. He went to the Pro Bowl in 2019 after having 49 tackles, a forced fumble, two interceptions and the first two sacks of his NFL career. The 2019 season was his seventh Pro Bowl. He was a big signing and he paid off well for the Ravens last season.

Then there is Chuck Clark. Clark took over as the starting strong safety when Tony Jefferson got hurt. Clark later took the green dot on his helmet, as the player who gets the play-calls from Don Martindale. Clark ended up with 73 total tackles, one sack and an interception for the season. He’s a very productive safety when it comes to tackles and he’s a very fundamentally sound player.

Clark and Thomas have an incredible combined football IQ. When you combine it with their range and athleticism and willingness to be hard hitters, you have an elite pairing of safeties. This is really what the Ravens were hoping to achieve when they paired Eric Weddle with Tony Jefferson. This is a case where both the free and strong safeties are perfect fits for the team.

The Ravens are made up of elite pairings on offense and defense. If you’re wondering if special teams comes into play that’s more of a trio. Sam Koch and Justin Tucker are two of the most important players on the roster, you just can’t give them love without mentioning how good Morgan Cox is. Looking specifically at duos and elements of the game these are the top five I could find on the roster. This is an illustration of how well loaded the Ravens roster is.
