Tight Ends

Analysis

Mark Andrews and Jackson repeatedly hooked up last week for one key reception after another. With the connection that he and Jackson have, it is extremely difficult to guard him and this week should be no different. When Lamar needs someone to throw to Andrews is his guy. Boyle will also make an impact blocking and in play action. He serves as an additional dump off pass for Jackson. Last year, each of these guys found success. Houston has good linebackers but they can’t match up with this duo.

Houston on the other hand has a nice duo of intriguing targets. Fells and Akins are both large targets and both can move around the line of scrimmage. Each of these guys are safety blankets to Deshaun Watson, but tight ends tend to get lost against the Ravens now with the shifts in defense Quarterbacks don’t have time to look for their tight ends. These guys will need to be involved through play action.

Looking at this matchup the young Raven safeties and linebackers will most likely be tested in coverage. Fells is a large target and Akins has a size speed combo, they both can do a lot of different things. The Texans have a great coverage linebacker in Zach Cunningham, but he and the rest of the linebackers and safeties will be tested with the blocking of Boyle and receiving ability of Andrews; that is certain to keep a defense busy throughout a game.

Prediction:

Mark Andrews– Six receptions, 80 yards, one touchown = 19 Fantasy points

Nick Boyle– Three receptions, 20 yards = Five Fantasy points

Jordan Akins– Two receptions, 25 yards = 4.5 Fantasy points

Darren Fells– Two receptions, 20 yards = Four Fantasy points
