The Baltimore Ravens play the Colts and it’s Dez Bryant time:

According to reports the Baltimore Ravens have called Dez Bryant up to the active roster. The former star wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys will most likely make his debut for the purple and black. It will be Bryant’s first game since the 2017 season, and that seems like forever ago now.

It’s hard to have high expectations for Bryant. The truth is that we don’t really know what to expect because it’s been a long while since we’ve seen him play football. Getting called up to the main roster may just tell us that he’s finally in football shape. What he does with it is still a mystery.

Bryant gives the Ravens something they just haven’t had at the wide receiver position. A tough possession receiver who can go up and get the football. It will be interesting to see how Bryant looks on Sunday. He never was a burner, speed was never the main component of his game. He used to be for Tony Romo what Anquan Boldin was for Joe Flacco.

In his peak Bryant was an ultra productive receiver. In the end of his time in Dallas he was still a solid target. Decent is all he has to be with the Ravens. Decent earns his pay-check signed by Steve Bisciotti.

His M.O. will be the same in Baltimore as it was in Dallas. Now we just have to see what he has in the tank. If Bryant looks anything close to what the way he was in Dallas, the Ravens will be helped. The Ravens need all the help they can get at wide receiver. Whether the talent is good enough or not, the production hasn’t been there.

More from Ebony Bird

John Harbaugh may have brought Bryant into the game day party because he knows this offense needs a jolt. Bryant is an emotional player who may be able to energize the offense. The Ravens needed a spark, so they found the match that used to light the flame for the Cowboys. It’s not a bad idea, it’s certainly worth a try.

Chemistry with Lamar Jackson is a big deal and Bryant hasn’t had a lot of time to develop that. It will be interesting to see how much Jackson trusts Bryant. The best case scenario is that Bryant can be productive and Jackson will have a third person to lean on in the passing game.

Predicting how Bryant will do:

Don’t expect a high snap count for Bryant. This is his first game and the Ravens are going to test him out a bit before they make him a mainstay of the offense. Expect the Ravens to make a point of it to get him the ball early and scatter a few more chances throughout the game. Bryant has to take advantage of his chances and he’ll earn more and more.

Put me down for three catches for 45 yards in his first game. This will be enough to get the Ravens Flock excited about him and enough for him to pick up some steam before the Sunday Night Football appearance against the New England Patriots. Bryant just has to show positive steps. With this receiving group, if Bryant stays on track he could become the number two wide receiver target.

dark. Next. 3 things the Ravens must do against the Colts

All eyes will be on Bryant. Keep track of how many times the commentators say Bryant’s name throughout the broadcast. There are two things to talk about with the Ravens going into this game. The first is their disappointment against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the second is the start of Dez Bryant time.
