3. The Ravens could still sign Melvin Ingram

The Ravens are desperate for pass-rush help after missing out on Za’Darius Smith in free agency. Their options have dwindled in recent days, but there are still a few appealing targets.

One of whom is Melvin Ingram. Ingram isn’t the same player he was during his glory days with the Chargers, but he’s still an effective pass rusher whose production is greater than what the stat sheet shows.

The soon-to-be 33-year-old registered just two sacks in 15 games split between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kansas City Chiefs in 2021. However, he still made a significant impact as a pass rusher.

Ingram’s 51 pressures ranked 23rd out of all edge rushers in the NFL, tied with established NFL stars like Brian Burnes and Cameron Jordan. He was still very productive this past season.

Given his age and recent injury history, it’s hard to imagine the Ravens would have to pay too much to land Ingram in Baltimore. This would be very similar to the Justin Houston signing a year ago.

Ingram is an experienced former Pro Bowl pass rusher who can provide a much-needed veteran presence to a relatively young Ravens outside linebacker unit.

He’s worth exploring as a late-free-agency target.
