The Baltimore Ravens are starting to construct their coaching staff under new head coach Jesse Minter. The 42-year-old made some quick hires with a few notable position coaches, but made his first splash move on Friday. The Ravens announced that they added Declan Doyle as the offensive coordinator.

Doyle was the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator in 2025. He made quick work up the coaching ladder, but he didn’t call the plays. Those duties fell on head coach Ben Johnson. Now, at 29 years old, Doyle will be a playcaller for the first time in his career.

While Doyle has just seven years of NFL coaching experience, he’s a rising star. He’s learned under some of the best in Sean Payton and Ben Johnson, and in Baltimore, he’ll work with two of the most talented players in all of football in quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry.

As he heads to Charm City, Doyle may look to bring some of his players with him. Most of the Bears' notable free agents play on the defensive side of the ball, but one offensive weapon that could make some sense for the Ravens is a player the organization is highly familiar with. That is wide receiver and return man Devin Duvernay.

Ravens may want to entertain a Devin Duvernay reunion

The Ravens were the team that gave Duvernay his first shot in the NFL. They selected him in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and he made a steady impact throughout his four-year tenure. He was a fine rotational option at wideout, but made his presence known as a returner. He made two Pro Bowls and one All-Pro first-team as a return specialist.

Duvernay continued to shine as a returner with the Bears. While Baltimore had rookie wide receiver LaJohntay Wester in that role in 2025, that was mainly as a punt returner. They struggled significantly on kick returns, which is an area Duvernay has proved he can thrive in. The Ravens might need some depth at wide receiver, too.

Ultimately, Duvernay wasn’t a crucial part of the Bears' offense under Johnson and Doyle. The Texas product only had two receptions for 26 yards throughout the regular season and only five total targets. He is still an option that Doyle is very familiar with, though. With wide receiver Tylan Wallace being a free agent for Baltimore, Duvernay could end up being his replacement.
