The Baltimore Ravens offense seems capable of doing whatever they want. They set records in 2024 and were the first offense in NFL history to accumulate over 4,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards. Some of their young weapons are still developing, too, so while it may be difficult to replicate last year’s success, it is highly possible.

Emerging wide receiver Zay Flowers made his first Pro Bowl last season, just two years into his NFL career. He is one of the smoothest route runners in the game and has become quarterback Lamar Jackson’s go-to target. The 24-year-old was only scratching the service, though. It sounds like he has big plans for 2025.

Flowers is as shifty as it gets for a receiver. He is a nuisance to bring down in the open field. But, there are moments he falls too far in love with juking defenders out. Cutting back rather than taking the yards in front of you can hurt sometimes, and the former Boston College standout let everyone know he has heard the noise

“I’m running straight this year y’all. I’m running straight, no more cutting,” Flowers said on Monday.

Zay Flowers should be even better in 2025

Flowers’ 1,059-yard season was his breakout campaign. He was a dynamic weapon in his rookie year, but in 2024, he took noteworthy strides. It was the first time a Ravens’ wideout ever made the Pro Bowl at the position, and the team likely would have made a deeper playoff run if he had not gotten injured in Week 18 against the Cleveland Browns.

Going into 2025, he looks healthy and should continue to adjust to the league's quick pace. His ability to make guys miss makes him special. However, there are times when this does not pay off, and it can run him into trouble. There have been moments when Flowers has missed out on critical yards by looking to break defenders’ ankles. With another year under his belt, Flowers should be able to maximize his elusiveness.

Of course, Flowers’ shiftiness opens lanes that many ballcarriers could only dream of creating. It is part of what makes him one of the more respected receivers and a Pro Bowl-caliber player. In just two years, he has morphed into one of the better weapons in the league, and his third season is on track to be even better.
