The Baltimore Ravens faced some tough decisions on NFL roster cutdown day. They made some bold cuts in favor of holding onto talented undrafted rookies, but the team looks destined for greatness in 2025.
While many of those cuts could make it back to the practice squad in the coming days, providing Baltimore some much-needed depth, others will get claimed off waivers. Still, this looks like the best-case scenario, as they have blended a great mix of proven stars, veteran contributors, and rising rookies.
The 53-man roster is still subject to change, as trades, waiver claims, and other moves could be on the horizon, but for now, it is shaping up to be one of the best in the league.

Analysis: For the past few weeks, it seems like the offense has been set in stone. There are not really many surprises here, as Baltimore enters the 2025 regular season with most of their historic offense from last year returning. The most prominent question mark surrounds the team’s offensive guard play, as they need Andrew Vorhees and Daniel Faalele to take big strides.
The tightest battle throughout training camp and preseason action was for the backup center job. Second-year pro Nick Samac was looking to claim the job for another season, but 2024 undrafted signing Corey Bullock had other plans. Bullock stole the job and will provide versatility to an offensive line desperate for depth in 2025.
The Ravens also see tight end Isaiah Likely avoid injured reserve. For now, it looks like he will be back in action sometime within the first four weeks, and fans are holding out hope he will be ready for Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. The dynamic tight end is going into a contract year and is looking to kick off the campaign on the right foot. Hopefully, he gets that opportunity.

(Ar’Darius Washington placed on Reserve/PUP list)
Analysis: Talk about undrafted free agents galore. The Ravens had several undrafted rookies stand out on the defensive side this summer. While they all had uphill battles for a roster spot, three of them will be on the initial 53-man roster. Those players are Reuben Lowery, Keyon Martin, and Jay Higgins IV.
As the corresponding moves, Baltimore parted ways with safety Beau Brade, cornerback Jalyn Armour-Davis, and defensive lineman Brent Urban. Brade will likely return on the practice squad if he clears waivers, and the veteran Urban should also have a role with the team this season. The biggest surprise is the Armour-Davis cut.
Armour-Davis had a strong camp and preseason showing, but was largely forced out due to his injury history. The 25-year-old has potential, but has not had the chance to showcase it over a full season due to various injuries. In response, Baltimore keeps an extra linebacker in Higgins, holding onto the breakout preseason star in hopes it pays off big moving forward.
Special Teams (3)
- Tyler Loop
- Jordan Stout
- Nick Moore
Analysis: Jordan Stout and Nick Moore return for another campaign, while rookie Tyler Loop has big shoes to fill, replacing Justin Tucker. Loop impressed in preseason, missing just two field goals, and had a booming make from 61 yards out.
