The Baltimore Ravens have gone defense-heavy in free agency. They signed the premier edge rusher every fan was hoping for in Trey Hendrickson, replaced Alohi Gilman and Ar’Darius Washington with Jaylinn Hawkins, and re-signed Chidobe Awuzie. There have been more additions on offense, but the top signings have come on the defensive side.
That’s not going to stop them from prioritizing defense early in the 2026 NFL Draft. Even though they brought back Awuzie, the corner room still lacks talent. Nate Wiggins should be an effective leader of the group next season; however, Marlon Humphrey regressed significantly in 2025, and Awuzie is 30 years old. That secondary needs an influx of youth.
In Matt Miller’s latest mock draft for ESPN, he gives the Ravens just what they need in the second round. He has them selecting Miami’s Keionte Scott at pick 45. Miller wrote:
“The Ravens need an outside corner opposite Nate Wiggins but could also use an upgrade in the slot. Scott is one of the best slot corners to come out of college in some time. He's feisty in coverage but provides an even bigger bonus as a blitzer and in run defense. Scott is an all-around playmaker, with two interceptions and five sacks last season.”
Baltimore Ravens boost secondary with Keionte Scott in latest ESPN mock draft
If the Ravens selected Scott in this year’s draft, he could prove to be exactly what Baltimore needs. They lacked urgency and energy last season, and there’s no prospect better at bringing that to the table than Scott. He’s an Energizer Bunny on defense. He’s literally everywhere.
Scott flies around the field and always seems to make a play on the ball carrier. His motor brings endless juice, and he runs at a million miles a minute. It doesn’t matter if he’s dropping back in coverage, coming up to stop the run, or blitzing; the Miami product has a fearless mentality and will be physical on every single snap.
Scott was also believed to have clocked between a 4.30-4.35 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. Some even had him at a 4.25. With his playstyle, that speed and burst will certainly play in the NFL.

The issues with Scott begin with his inconsistencies in coverage. His anticipation against routes is a problem, and he has tight transitions when trying to match breaks. And although that energy he showcases is a major positive, he can also take himself out of position to make plays at times. Aggressiveness is great, but he needs to keep himself from being overaggressive. He’ll also be 25 years old by the time his rookie campaign kicks off.
Ultimately, the Ravens need some help in the slot, especially if Humphrey fails to bounce back. Scott could plug right into the slot and be an immediate sparkplug. Sure, he has his fair share of flaws, but that endless motor and winning attitude make him a fun prospect. If he landed in Charm City, he could really come into his own under the tutelage of Jesse Minter and Anthony Weaver.
