There’s still a lot of work to do this offseason, but for the Baltimore Ravens, roster battles could quickly get chippy. Players on the bubble, or those who haven’t been consistent enough, have almost an entirely new coaching staff to impress.
Similarly, the 2026 NFL Draft will likely push the issue for those players. The Ravens are tied for the second-most draft picks with 11. It’s no shock that they’re sitting with an abundance of picks again, and just like last year, many of those come on Day 3.
As a result, Baltimore is going to have to dig deep for potential selections. One late-round prospect they’ve held a private workout with is Navy’s defensive tackle Landon Robinson. He’s a 5-foot-11 pass rush specialist. Sound familiar? If selected, he could be the main competition for 6-foot defensive tackle Aeneas Peebles.
Baltimore Ravens could bring in prime competition for recent draft pick in 2026 NFL Draft
Peebles has become a fan favorite in his short time in Baltimore. He flashed as much as an undersized sixth-round pick could in the preseason, and with very good pass-rush chops for an interior defensive lineman, he seemed poised to earn a role on a defense that lacked juice on the defensive front in 2025. Instead, former head coach John Harbaugh buried him.
It really felt unfair. Peebles should’ve gotten more than 71 total defensive snaps last season, and that snap count of just four from Week 6 to Week 18 is just flat-out shocking to look at. However, the NFL isn’t fair. If you’re a late-round pick, and one extremely undersized for your position at that, then you need to showcase a key separator quickly. Baltimore’s interest in Robinson could signal Peebles’ back is already against the wall.
Robinson totaled 14.5 sacks across his college career at Navy. Obviously, being a smaller defensive lineman, he’s able to use his quickness and shorter stature to sift through blocks. He’s also got good core strength paired with a lower center of gravity, making him a pain to block despite his size.
Regardless, that size will likely be more of a negative than a positive at the NFL level. He’s simply not going to be given much space to operate, and bigger linemen could eat him alive. And like Peebles, he won’t see many opportunities in the run game. He may be a very limited player at the next level.
This isn’t to say that Peebles would be immediately shown the door if Baltimore drafted Robinson. However, it’d turn up the heat significantly. If the pairing comes to fruition, the Peebles vs. Robinson training camp battle would be an underrated competition to keep an eye on.
