The Baltimore Ravens are entering 2026 with a sweet mix of unknowns and excitement. At the front of it all is the new coaching staff, which undoubtedly has a different kind of fire flowing through the team in training camp.
The offense and defense are both in tremendous positions to feast this season. And for the offense in particular, there’s real reason to believe they could reach heights no team has reached before. It all starts with offensive coordinator Declan Doyle.
Doyle has already made a major impact in training camp, and for any fans itching for a peek behind the curtain, veteran running back Justice Hill offered just that.
“Going through all the coordinators that we’ve had here, [Doyle’s] been the most detail-oriented,” Hill said. “He specializes not just in the run game, but also in the pass game…when you’re able to do both of those things, that separates you and puts you apart from the pack…He does a really good job of explaining things at a basic level, and not overcomplicating it.”

If a fresh-faced, 30-year-old offensive coordinator is going to receive praise, Justice Hill is one of the guys you’d want to hear it from. The 2019 fourth-round pick is going into his eighth season with the team, which makes him the fifth-longest tenured Raven. Safe to say, Hill knows what he’s talking about.
Hill calling Doyle the most detail-oriented playcaller he’s had is extremely high praise. Between Greg Roman and Todd Monken, the Ravens have had some explosive offenses since 2019—four of those were top-7 in scoring, and two (should’ve been three) helped Lamar Jackson win an MVP. Somehow, Doyle’s unit could be even better.
Hill isn’t the only one showering Doyle with this glowing praise. There’s truly not a single player that hasn’t been blown away by the new offensive coordinator. That includes Lamar Jackson, who was already impressed by Doyle’s creativity back during the offseason program.
“I feel like there’s gonna be a lot of explosiveness going on this year,” Jackson said. “The way [Doyle] calls plays, and his creativity with his mind, and how detailed he is…it’s mind-blowing.”
And this praise doesn’t come without reason. The play on the field offers a ton of potential, too.
The Ravens offense started extremely hot in training camp, and while they’ve had moments of fizzling out, the explosive plays that Doyle is looking to make a theme are popping up constantly in every practice. Most notably, it’s been the passing attack that’s looked utterly dominant at times.
All in all, it looks like the dynamic offense that Doyle helped run with the Chicago Bears is starting to touch down in Charm City. It’s a big step for him as it’ll be the first time he’ll be the lead playcaller, but by all accounts, he’s making that jump look seamless.
