Zay Flowers has been unstoppable. The Baltimore Ravens’ WR1 is living up to every bit of his four-year, $140 million contract, making many who balked at his massive payday look silly.

After inking that $140 million deal with $108 million guaranteed, NFL fans were shocked, and several media outlets called it an overpay. Flowers’ hot start is making people change that tune.

The 26-year-old has dominated in what’s been a limited snap share to kick off the 2026 campaign. With the numbers he’s putting up, though, you wouldn’t know he’s played in just 41 snaps. In two games and those 41 snaps, Flowers has caught 10 of 12 targets for 234 yards and 1 touchdown.

If there were still any doubts about whether Flowers was worth that price tag, they’re gone now.

Zay Flowers’ start to 2026 has been nothing short of exceptional

Zay Flowers has not just lived up to expectations in Baltimore; he’s also taking steps into elite wide receiver territory in the NFL as a whole. Last year, he was already knocking on the top-10 WR door—he tallied 86 receptions, 1,211 yards, and 6 total touchdowns en route to his second straight Pro Bowl.

Now, Flowers is breaking that door down.

Even outside the big flashy numbers, Flowers’ 2026 production has been tremendous in pretty much every way imaginable. All 10 of his receptions have gone for first downs, he has an elite 83.3% catch rate, and is averaging 23.3 yards per reception. Insane.

And it’s not just those numbers. He’s impossible to cover. He’s grown into one of the best route runners in the NFL, constantly creating separation and doing so like no other. If you’re a cornerback drawing him one-on-one in man coverage, you’re going to have your hands full.

Those route-running chops translate into the deeper metrics, too. Most notably, his 9.0 yards per route run is off the charts. He has no peers.

And according to Pro Football Focus, Flowers has earned a 92.4 overall grade. That’s good for second in the NFL, and just barely behind reigning Offensive Player of the Year Jaxon Smith-Njigba. You could say that's some pretty decent company to be in.

Of course, many of these numbers are obviously skewed. Flowers left the season opener early with a hamstring injury, which kept him out of Week 2 and limited him to only 21 snaps in Week 3. A few of those averages are going to fall back to Earth.

In the same breath, though, you could say it’s just as impressive that he’s been so productive in such a short time on the field. And as he continues to heal up from his hamstring issue, an even scarier version of Flowers could be unleashed moving forward.
