The Baltimore Ravens checked off another order of business from this offseason. They made the highly anticipated move that they’ve been working on for months, signing wide receiver Zay Flowers to a four-year, $140 million contract extension.

The deal comes with $108 million guaranteed and an average annual salary of $35 million per year. That’s money that the two-time Pro Bowler undoubtedly deserves.
Based on total value and salary, that ties Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who also signed a four-year, $140 million deal back in 2024. It’s high expectations to give him a similarly structured contract, but with the wide receiver market inflating like a balloon this offseason, it’s a deal that Baltimore had to give Flowers.

Flowers has done everything he possibly can to prove that he’s worth this massive extension. Three years into his NFL career, and he’s already earned two Pro Bowl nods, all while consistently improving year over year. He’s one of the best wideouts in the AFC, and will be making a strong case to be a top-10 guy in the entire league in 2026.
Despite being 5-foot-9, Flowers has proven he plays much bigger than his size suggests. He possesses the outstanding route-running skills and shiftiness of a shorter weapon, but also competes at the catch point and fights through contact like a bigger, physical target. There’s really nothing defenses can throw at him to keep him quiet for all four quarters.
The Boston College product is on an intriguing upward trend, too. He outdoes himself by about 200 yards every year, and if that continues, there’s a real chance he sets the Ravens receiving yards record in 2026. That’d be the best way to vindicate the supreme confidence that the organization is putting into Flowers.
The deal also confirms that Flowers is the WR1 everyone on the team knows he can be. There have been some questions about that due to his aforementioned size, but everyone in the building will tell you that he can command a wide receiver room. As $140 million enters his pockets, there’s even more reason to prove his team right and everyone else that doubted him wrong.
With Flowers crossed off the list of roster priorities, Baltimore can breathe a little easier. Sure, they had the fifth-year option to fall back on, but we all know that’s never a guarantee, and things can always take a bad turn. It’s great to see the team get serious about wide receivers, locking in their top weapon for Lamar Jackson.
