Compelling A.J. Brown-Ravens trade package may force Eagles into tough call

One of the most interesting situations this offseason that the Baltimore Ravens should be monitoring is what’s going on with wide receiver A.J. Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles. If there’s any opening in swinging a deal for the star weapon, general manager Eric DeCosta should be making a push.

Baltimore’s superstar running back, Derrick Henry, already made his opinion on the matter well-known. He made multiple recruiting pitches to bring Brown to Charm City during the lead-up to the Super Bowl. However, recent reports signal that the tensions between Brown and the Eagles have simmered down a bit, and he seems excited for what the future could hold.

Still, a trade isn’t completely out of the realm of possibilities. It’d take a compelling package, but it's something DeCosta could pull off if he’s serious about it. According to Bleacher Report, the Ravens are one of the top five realistic destinations for Brown.

Moe Moton of Bleacher Report put together five mock trades for Brown in a recent article. For the Ravens, he has them dealing wide receiver Rashod Bateman and a 2026 second-round pick to the Eagles for Brown. Moton wrote:

“Brown would reunite with his former Tennessee Titans teammate, Derrick Henry, and add to the team's physical identity. The 6'1", 226-pound outside receiver can be a complement to Flowers, who's a shifty 5'9" wideout who lines up on the boundary and in the slot.”

“The Eagles can get more out of Rashod Bateman. Last June, he signed a three-year, $36.75 million extension and followed up with 19 catches for 224 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games. In a trade to Philadelphia, the five-year veteran can operate as the clear-cut No. 2 option behind DeVonta Smith.”

Moton also highlighted that Baltimore has money to work with, and acquiring Brown wouldn’t necessarily get in the way of the nearing negotiations with two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Zay Flowers.

Making a move of this magnitude would be a dream opportunity for the Ravens and their Lamar Jackson-led offense.

Ravens could have the perfect trade package to land A.J. Brown

In his career, quarterback Lamar Jackson has proven that he can do significant damage no matter who his weapons are. However, in 2025, outside of Flowers, no receiver totaled more than 422 yards. The front office needs to enhance Jackson’s arsenal of weapons this offseason.

Rashod Bateman was expected to rise as the wide receiver to complement Flowers. After signing a three-year, $36.75 million contract last offseason, though, he didn’t live up to those expectations. He finished the year with a quiet 19 receptions for 224 yards and two touchdowns, and showcased a lack of effort at times.

Like Brown, Bateman has also caused some drama that could warrant a mutual parting of ways this offseason. On his backup Instagram account, cryptic posts were made, complaining about his usage in 2025. He later claimed he got hacked, but also admitted he agreed with some of the posts.

On the other hand, Brown requested a trade out of Philadelphia multiple times last year. It seems like things have gotten better, but it’s fair to question if there are still fractures within their relationship. If fractures do remain, it’d be a golden chance to acquire the three-time Pro Bowler.

The partnership between Jackson and Brown could immediately become one of the best. Brown is a dynamic weapon that wins with physicality and athleticism, and is also a nuisance to guard in contested opportunities, something Jackson has yet to truly have in his career. It could morph that offense into an even more lethal threat.

Eric DeCosta may usually be reluctant to deal higher draft picks, but a second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft doesn’t convey as lucrative value as it usually does.

This year’s draft is a lot weaker. It could be the perfect time to switch up the team’s building philosophy and surround Jackson with a dominant threat on the outside. The time to win a Super Bowl is now, and Brown would put that plan into action.
