A focus for the Baltimore Ravens all offseason has been reviving their defense. And rightfully so. Their unit last year was completely lifeless. At the top of the list of needs was undoubtedly pass rush.

The Ravens have filled that need and then some. They added plenty of juice off the edge through the blockbuster signing of Trey Hendrickson, and added more talent there in the 2026 NFL Draft with Zion Young in the second round. They even found some pass-rush help on the interior by way of the late offseason addition of Calais Campbell.

Still, some people think more should be coming. There could be room for another pass rusher, but general manager Eric DeCosta is waiting to see how things play out in training camp. In a recent interview on 105.7 The Fan, he pumped the brakes on pass rush talks.

“Never say never. I think some of it will depend on our evaluation of [the pass rush room] over the coming month or so,” DeCosta said. “We signed [Jadeveon] Clowney, years ago, in August…but I think what we want to do is assess what we have and make a decision based off of that.”

Baltimore Ravens might be finished adding on defensive front

The Ravens’ pass rush looks lethal. Trey Hendrickson is the elite presence that they’ve missed for years on the edge, Mike Green should take significant strides in year two, Zion Young is an intriguing rookie with a relentless motor, and Tavius Robinson is an all-around weapon who should bring everything together. The point is, there’s no shortage of talent. However, although Eric DeCosta seems satisfied, there’s reason to believe that there could be one more addition made somewhere down the line.

It won’t be now. DeCosta pretty much made that clear. But what if the fifth member of the outside linebacker group, Adisa Isaac, fails to impress? While the 2024 third-rounder hasn’t gotten a fair chance due to injuries, it’s hard to argue that his back isn’t up against the wall. A replacement could be coming in that case.

Jadeveon Clowney has been the main target in the eyes of the fanbase if the Ravens choose to sign one more pass rusher. A reunion would make a ton of sense, as the 33-year-old is still putting up strong sack totals late into his career. What better than a proven veteran to bring together a game-wrecking defense? Sure, DeCosta seems to have shut it down for now, but the idea is really, really tempting.

Regardless of what happens, fans are certainly satisfied with the offseason that Baltimore has had, especially on the defensive side. All those additions on the defensive front should turn a 30-sack group from last year into one that is near the top of the league in 2026. They look ready to bounce back and haunt opposing offenses this upcoming season.
