No one runs the ball better than the Baltimore Ravens. While the reigning Offensive Player of the Year resides in Philadelphia, the most dynamic rushing attack lives in Charm City, and the running back room is as deep as it gets.

The group is spearheaded by one of the most physical runners in football history–Derrick Henry and has explosive depth like Justice Hill and Keaton Mitchell. Second-year back Rasheen Ali will also look to make his name heard in 2025. But one free agent available could take Baltimore’s dream offense to otherworldly levels.

Nick Chubb could create one of the nastiest duos in NFL

SportsCasting’s Gia Nguyen offered their view on the top remaining free agents and where they could sign before the 2025 season kicks off. Nick Chubb is one of the most intriguing names left available, and Nguyen believes the Ravens could be a suitor for the former Georgia Bulldog.

Chubb was a thorn in the Ravens’ side during his Cleveland tenure. Almost every time the two squared off he would torch their defense with his explosive and powerful running style. But after multiple devastating injuries, he has become an afterthought in the league.

In 2023, Chubb tore his ACL, MCL, and meniscus in an early matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He did the unthinkable and came back in 2024 but went on to break his foot against the Kansas City Chiefs. Injuries like these take a toll on players physically and mentally, but Chubb is still hungry for more, and Baltimore could be his next destination.

Henry is the bell cow of Baltimore’s offense, and Hill leads the third down unit on passing situations. While there isn’t much opportunity for Chubb, that could be favorable with his recent injury history. The Ravens pound the rock more than any other team, so the former Brown could still log snaps while getting enough rest to keep his body at 100 percent.

Baltimore likely won’t see Chubb return to Pro Bowl form if they opt to sign him. However, another year of recovery from the knee injuries could see him return somewhat close to his 2022 form. Henry is also 31 years old, and while he has shown he can still handle the workload, Baltimore could use another muscled-up runner who can take on the physical nature the position endures and keep Henry fresh.

Signing Chubb would be risky due to his career trajectory, but it would be a low risk. There seems to be a lack of interest in the four-time Pro Bowler, and the Ravens could jump at the opportunity to sign him. The reward of bringing in a running back who was on pace for a fifth-straight 1,000-yard season in 2022 before injuries could prove too good to pass up.
