When the Baltimore Ravens drafted outside linebacker Adisa Isaac in the third-round of the 2024 NFL Draft, there was some real excitement. He showed promise as both a run stopper and pass rusher at Penn State.
Unfortunately, Isaac's young career has been defined by injuries. Thus far, Isaac has played in just four total games, all in his rookie season while battling a hamstring injury. He missed all of last season with an elbow injury and sadly is on the physically-unable-to-perform (PUP) list before the start of training camp due to that same injury.
The Ravens have placed 6 players on the physically-unable-to-perform list:

DL Nnamdi Madubuike (neck)
DL Travis Jones
DL John Jenkins
ILB Teddye Buchanan (knee)
OLB Adisa Isaac (elbow)
CB Bilhal Kone (knee)
Players can be taken off the list at any time. Camp starts Wednesday.
Isaac, still struggling with this injury, finds himself staring down a tough training camp even if he can return at some point.
Adisa Isaac might have a tough time keeping his spot on the Baltimore Ravens' roster
Seeing a young player being hampered this much by injuries is absolutely brutal. We really don't know if Isaac is a good player or not. And with him being injured for the start of training camp, Baltimore might lose out on a valuable chance to evaluate him.
You hate to say it because of the circumstances of Isaac's injuries, but at some point, if he can't stay on the field, you have to wonder if the Ravens will cut ties with him, especially with a new coaching staff.
The Ravens upgraded their pass-rush in a real way this offseason by signing Trey Hendrickson and drafting Zion Young. Mike Green should have a bigger role in year two, as well. Plus, there's still Tavius Robinson, and maybe Trenton Simpson is unleashed as a pass rusher in 2026. A breakout training camp player would also be awesome news for the Ravens, but it would further make NFL life difficult for Isaac.
Best-case scenario: Isaac can keep his spot as a depth outside linebacker. Worst case is, of course, the team cuts ties with him. The point is that Isaac faces stiff competition at his position, and he could have benefited from a healthy training camp. Even though Isaac still has upside at 24 years old, he could find himself as the odd man out, and unfortunately, his injury sets the tone for a rough training camp.
Hopefully, Isaac can get back on the field and showcase his promise. Players can return from the PUP list at any time during camp. Regardless, showcasing that promise is far from a guarantee, and a PUP designation is the last thing Isaac needed as he tries to prove himself.
Isaac's health status will be an under-the-radar story for Ravens fans to monitor as training camp progresses. I'm rooting for Isaac to turn his bad injury luck around and keep a roster spot, but that might be tricky.
