One of the best feelings is wishing for a specific gift, and that exact gift being under the tree on Christmas morning. While Christmas may be months away, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson recently experienced that feeling in June, during minicamp. On Tuesday, Jackson pleaded with Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta to sign veteran corner Jaire Alexander. A day later, DeCosta delivered like Santa Claus, signing Alexander to a one-year deal.
When Alexander arrived to the building to officially sign his contract, he was greeted by by Jackson, who was as ecstatic as a kid on Christmas morning. The jubilant embrace by the two NFL veterans is currently going viral, as fans can’t help but smile while watching.

Lamar Jackson and Jaire Alexander are excited to be teammates again
The reason Jackson pushed so hard for the Ravens to sign Alexander, and why the two were so excited to see each other on Wednesday is because they played together in college at Louisville. Both players were apart of the 2015 recruiting class, and dominated for the Cardinals for three seasons, leading Louisville to an incredibly successful era.
They also left together, entering the league at the same time in 2018. Jaire Alexander was drafted first, being selected by the Green Bay Packers with the 18th-overall pick, and Jackson also went in the first round at pick 32. While the quarterback had the wait a little longer, it led to another viral moment between the two on draft night.

While Alexander was backstage doing media sessions after being drafted, he was captured on camera celebrating the moment Jackson’s long night came to an end when his name was called by Baltimore. By the way Alexander celebrated, it was clear the bond the two players had. Now, after years of being away from each other, both guys are Ravens and they will be determined to get this talented team a Super Bowl victory.
