The NFL’s coaching carousel this offseason has been a wild one. The Baltimore Ravens have played a major role in it. They fired John Harbaugh, who was immediately scooped up to fill another vacancy with the New York Giants. Last week, they hired Jesse Minter, causing a ton of staff turnover.
Most recently, their former offensive coordinator, Todd Monken, signed with the Cleveland Browns to become their next head coach. With two former Ravens coaches becoming head coaches elsewhere, many of the team's position coaches and coordinators are leaving Charm City.
After being hired by the Browns on Wednesday, Monken didn’t wait long before poaching from Baltimore’s 2025 staff. He brought George Warhop with him to Cleveland, who was previously the offensive line coach with the Ravens, before losing that job to Dwayne Ledford. He’ll hold the same position on Monken’s staff.
Another hire in Cleveland: Browns HC Todd Monken is bringing former Ravens OL coach George Warhop with him to the Browns to coach the same position, per sources.

Ravens fans rejoice as George Warhop departs for division rival
Warhop’s tenure in Baltimore was a complete disaster. He spent two years as the offensive line coach, but the pass protection and run blocking took significant steps back in those years. In 2025, the unit had its worst year in recent memory, allowing 45 sacks and making life difficult for Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Overall, the blocking schemes were questionable, and Warhop struggled to establish quality play up front.
Sure, the roster building didn’t entirely favor Warhop, as his offensive guards consisted of Patrick Mekari, Daniel Faalele, and Andrew Vorhees. However, he didn’t hold up his end of the bargain in developing those players. The duo of Faalele and Vorhees this past year was especially bad, which had Jackson and Henry searching desperately for open space all season long.
Now, Warhop returns to Cleveland, where he was the offensive line coach from 2009 to 2013, and he has some work to do. The Browns have had some talent on their offensive lines, with Joel Bitonio and Wyatt Teller recently submitting Pro Bowl and All-Pro worthy campaigns, but both those players are free agents this offseason. If they depart, there will be little to no talent on that front. With Warhop in charge, they could be even worse.
Thankfully for Ravens fans, part of that 2025 headache is gone, and they’re hoping that Warhop will bring some struggling blockers like Faalele with him to the Browns.
