It sounds like the Baltimore Ravens’ next order of business in contract negotiations is that long-awaited Zay Flowers extension. We’re still waiting, but there appears to be interest from both sides, and the pendulum is swinging the right direction.
Still, an agreement has yet to be finalized. While anticipation continues to build, other top NFL wide receivers are getting paid. Most recently, it was New Orleans Saints All-Pro wideout Chris Olave.
Olave signed a four-year, $132 million extension with the Saints on Thursday. Although it’s a bit disappointing to see other wide receivers sign on the dotted line before Flowers, it may actually be a good thing for Baltimore. Olave’s new contract paired with Atlanta Falcons wideout Drake London’s could paint a fair middle ground for Flowers and the Ravens in their talks.

Zay Flowers needs to be a Raven for the foreseeable future. It took him no time at all to become the greatest wide receiver in Baltimore history…which is more of a testament to how bad the organization’s receivers have been, but that’s besides the point. Flowers has been electric since the moment he stepped onto the field in the NFL.
342 receptions, 3,302 all-purpose yards, 16 touchdowns, and two Pro Bowl selections later, and Flowers is ready to sign for what should be a very handsome contract. The question is: how expensive will it be?
Drake London and Chris Olave have set a fair baseline for Flowers. London’s average annual salary of just over $35 million seems a bit rich, but Olave’s of $33 million could be the perfect floor. Between those two deals, the Ravens have their blueprint for Flowers set in stone.
A $33.5 to $34 million salary feels like the perfect mark for Flowers. He’s surpassed over 1,000 receiving yards in two out of his three seasons, and is coming off a career-high of 1,211. That production deserves a payday within that range.
With those numbers in mind, the 25-year-old’s ceiling might be just slightly higher than Olave’s, and he comes with fewer injury concerns than Olave, who has had a very troublesome concussion history.
As for the London conversation, the Falcons star can be one of the most physically imposing boundary threats. That also leads to WR1-level production, as he posted impressive career-highs in 2023 with 100 receptions, 1,271 yards, and 9 touchdowns. When you pair that with a 6-foot-4 frame, it tends to make for a more desirable wideout, which could be an indicator that London will barely outearn Flowers.
While the recent developments of the wide receiver market should reveal a realistic plan for Flowers’ extension, we don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors. The two-time Pro Bowler holds a lot of leverage right now—he’s the only legitimate weapon that Baltimore has through the air. As a result, he may receive an even bigger price tag than some expect.
Thankfully, Flowers has made it crystal clear that he wants to remain in Charm City. But whatever happens, he’s not focused on the negotiations. He’s focused on doing everything possible for this team in 2026.
