After a horrific 2025 season from the pass rush, the Baltimore Ravens have indicated they are going to be aggressive to fix that issue. They made that clear on Friday with their blockbuster trade for edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

The Ravens could see a ton of roster fallout after the Crosby deal. They have a strong pass rush trio set in Crosby, Mike Green, and Tavius Robinson. They also have a trio of pass rushers set to hit free agency, and with three heavy contributors already leading the group, their Baltimore tenures could soon end.

Dre’Mont Jones, Kyle Van Noy, and David Ojabo officially become free agents on March 11. Each could have a tough time making their way back to Charm City this offseason. For Van Noy, his regression in 2025 was clear as day to fans, and the addition of Crosby could all but close the chapter on his Ravens career.

Baltimore Ravens may be okay with letting Kyle Van Noy walk after Maxx Crosby trade

Statistically, the best years of Van Noy’s career came as a Raven. In 2023, the veteran posted, at the time, a career-high in sacks with nine, and in 2024, he was even more impressive with 12.5 sacks. Unfortunately, he took a big step back this past season, posting just two sacks.

It’s obvious the defense needs a ton of changes. Although Van Noy quickly became a fan favorite on and off the field, all good things must come to an end, and with Crosby leading the charge now, the path may be open for Van Noy to finish out his career elsewhere.

In 2025, the regression for Van Noy was obvious. As a result, the Ravens could seek out different options for pass rush depth. They could look to go for a younger player, whether that be in the draft or free agency, that the new head coach Jesse Minter can develop.

Minter’s pass rush development was on full display last year. After the Los Angeles Chargers acquired Odafe Oweh from the Ravens, Oweh went from zero sacks in his first five games to 7.5 in his final 12 in Los Angeles. He also dominated the team’s playoff loss with three sacks and two forced fumbles. Clearly, Minter knows how to get the most out of his players, and adding a player to better fit his system could do wonders for the rest of Baltimore’s pass rush unit.

Van Noy should be on the cheaper side in free agency, and he also brings an important veteran voice to the locker room. However, after posting just 30 sacks as a group last season, Baltimore’s front office should look to add more talented players with room to grow. Minter is a defensive mastermind, and they must capitalize on that by trying to tap into the potential of free agents or draft prospects to complete their outside linebacker unit.
