There were murmurings about Crosby's imminent departure from Las Vegas. Sitting him out towards the end of last season to cement the No. 1 overall selection in the 2026 NFL Draft didn't sit well with the player. Several teams got into the mix, but the Ravens were the only ones willing to pay what the Raiders were looking for.
Baltimore will send its first-rounders this year and next to Las Vegas for Crosby. It's a significant statement of intent, one that could propel them back into the playoff picture after an underwhelming 2025 campaign. And for new head coach Jesse Minter, this could be the difference-maker on the edge to kickstart this exciting new era.

There aren't many better edge rushers around the league than Crosby. He's a five-time Pro Bowler with 69.5 career sacks. His motor is nothing short of relentless, setting the tone for others to follow. For a defense already boasting the likes of Nnamdi Madubuike, Roquan Smith, and Kyle Hamilton, it makes Baltimore's unit even more fearsome.
It's an all-in play from general manager Eric DeCosta. But in all honesty, it was entirely necessary.
Baltimore wasn't going to get a player of Crosby's caliber with the No. 14 pick. They also need to maximize their window of opportunity with quarterback Lamar Jackson, who remains an elite playmaker under center but is not getting any younger. Being bold was the only option, and this was a good place to start.
Crosby's mentality, will to win, and passionate approach will make him an instant fan favorite in Baltimore. This should also fit seamlessly into the Ravens' locker room, and having a supreme threat coming off the edge who demands special attention on almost every snap could free up space for others to do damage.
Ravens Trade Grade: A
This signified that the Ravens are not planning any consolidation period after longtime head coach John Harbaugh left the organization. They want to hit the ground running with Minter, and the talent is there for a quick turnaround. Crosby enhanced it considerably, and even though the price wasn't exactly low, it was well worth the risk.
And if Crosby excels with better talent around him, it's all systems go for the player and the Ravens.
