The Baltimore Ravens are inching closer to their Week 1 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. And along the way, we’re learning more and more about who will be available for kickoff on Sunday.

On Wednesday, the Ravens released their first injury report for their season-opening showdown. As luck would have it, every player on their 53-man roster was available. Several guys weren’t full participants, though.

Some of those are big names, particularly Zay Flowers, Nnamdi Madubuike, and Teddye Buchanan. And while there really aren’t any surprises, it does paint a slightly clearer picture of how the Ravens will look when they take the field on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Baltimore Ravens initial injury report paints clearer picture for Week 1 showdown

Between Zay Flowers, Nnamdi Madubuike, Teddye Buchanan, and Devontez Walker, we knew they were dealing with injuries. If anything, it’s an incredibly encouraging sign that all four were at least participating in limited capacity. This is just the first practice—they’ll have two more and a rest day to heal up before gameday.

Pretty much all offseason, the injury storylines have hovered over Madubuike and Buchanan. Both are coming off major injuries, and their Week 1 status is up in the air. In all honesty, everything is hinting at them missing at least one game.

However, the fact that neither was placed on IR and are hitting the field in pads makes it clear they’re close. Very close.

Still, it’s fair to expect the Ravens to be extra careful with both guys. Madubuike hasn’t played in an NFL game since Week 2 because of a neck issue, and Buchanan tore his ACL in Week 15. You should want a week’s worth of full participation before you throw them back into the fire.

As for Flowers and Walker, there may be concern surrounding the wide receiver room.

Flowers is expected to play. Will Baltimore’s $140 million wideout be 100%, though? He’s said he feels better than ever, but for a player as speedy and as shifty as Flowers, hamstring problems can be a nightmare. Hopefully he continues trending in the right direction.

In Walker’s case, this is a newer injury. Jesse Minter has said the groin issue is only minor, but it could still affect his Week 1 status. Thankfully, he’s already on track to return.

There’s really no need to rush Walker back. It doesn’t seem like he’ll be a focal point of the offense in the early going—Ja’Kobi Lane appears to be the WR3 behind Flowers and Rashod Bateman. The Ravens could take another week with him if they need to.

Overall, Baltimore is off to a very positive start to Colts week. It’s a breath of fresh air to see a lighter injury report after the constant essays written on injury reports under John Harbaugh.
