In Week 9, the Baltimore Ravens stormed past the Denver Broncos in a 41-10 blowout, and as always, Lamar Jackson was at the heart of the action.

Jackson didn’t just put together another solid game; he orchestrated one of his best passing performances of the season, finishing with 280 yards and three touchdowns. But the real headline? Jackson posted a perfect passer rating of 158.3 for the fourth time in his career, a milestone only the NFL’s elite can claim.

As the Ravens’ offense picked apart the Broncos’ defense, Jackson showcased the pinpoint accuracy and big-play ability Ravens fans have come to expect. He completed 16 of 19 passes (an 84.2% completion rate), averaged 14.7 yards per attempt, and threw three touchdowns without a single interception. One of the most electric plays of the day came just before halftime, as he hit Zay Flowers for a 53-yard touchdown.

While much of the pregame chatter was about Denver's defense, ranked among the stingiest in points allowed, the Ravens didn’t flinch.

Jackson spread the ball to multiple targets, showcasing chemistry with Flowers, who posted five receptions for 127 yards and two scores. Even with Denver's pass rush, which had held up well against other offenses, Jackson was nearly untouchable, taking just one sack all game.

Jackson joins elite club with four perfect passer ratings

With his fourth career game achieving a perfect passer rating, Jackson ties former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, claiming the top spot for the most games with a perfect passer rating in NFL history.

In order to hit a perfect passer rating, a QB must do the following:

  • Min. 10 pass attempts
  • Min. 77.5% completion rate
  • Min. 11.875% of passes result in touchdowns
  • Min. 12.5 yards per attempt

Joining this exclusive club puts Jackson among the greats, surpassing players like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Kurt Warner, who each have three such games in their storied careers.

Jackson’s first three perfect passer ratings came during his two MVP seasons, two in 2019 and one in 2023. Now, in 2024, he’s once again building a strong case for another MVP trophy.

Early on, Jackson was known for his speed and agility in the open field, but this season, he’s shown he can stay in the pocket and hurt defenses with his arm alone.

The Broncos’ game was a prime example, Jackson ran just three times for four yards, letting Derrick Henry take the load on the ground with 106 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

The Ravens' victory over Denver improved their record to 6-3, putting them in a strong playoff position.

As the Ravens continue to hunt for that elusive Super Bowl, Lamar Jackson’s individual milestones highlight his regular-season greatness. But for Jackson, this season is about more than personal records. If he keeps leading the Ravens with performances like this, a deep postseason run could be on the horizon.

And maybe, just maybe, that long-awaited Super Bowl will follow.
