2. Lamar Jackson is the MVP front-runner

Monday was very close to what we had expected in terms of Lamar Jackson winning over a fan base and reclaiming his spot as the MVP favorite. Jackson entered the game in a tie for third. Brock Purdy and the 49ers were hot, and he was the clear favorite. Dak Prescott just struggled on the road and crashed back to a tie with Lamar Jackson in odds. However, everything was in front of Jackson.

Jackson got to play against Brock Purdy and the 49ers. He did not face Purdy himself, but Jackson did face an elite 49ers defense, while Purdy also had a big test in front of him. Purdy faltered, with four interceptions, while Lamar Jackson did classic Lamar things and dominated.

Needless to say, the MVP odds shifted rather quickly. It became clear that Purdy was playing well but needed his other pieces while Lamar Jackson is lifting the pieces around him. It was much easier to see the difference when they were in the same stadium.
