Wide receiver Zay Flowers stands out as one of their biggest wins in that area, and the team invested in him with the thought that he would continue his terrific play in the future.
Baltimore agreed to a four-year, $140 million contract extension with Flowers that will pay him $35 million per season. After coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in an offense that is still generally reliant on having a strong ground game above all else, Flowers' production might be good enough to put him in rarified air across this franchise's history.
With Flowers now ensured to be spending his prime in Baltimore, it seems like one step below a foregone conclusion that his name will be at or near the top of every Ravens receiving category by the time his contract elapses.

Teammate Mark Andrews currently has the Ravens' receiving records for catches, yards, and touchdowns. Derrick Mason is right behind him both catches and yards. In a truly stunning development, no wide receiver in Ravens history has more touchdown catches than Torrey Smith's 30 scores. Flowers will have his eyes set on those marks.
Even after just three seasons in the NFL, Flowers ranked fifth on the Ravens' all-time receiving list. Another 1,000-yard season would move him past Smith into fourth place, trailing only Andrews, Mason, and Todd Heap. If he keeps this level up throughout the duration of his contract, Flowers could annihilate the record books.
Even though Flowers plays for a quarterback in Lamar Jackson that is going to run the ball quite frequently and very rarely throw the ball with an insane deal of volume, getting two 1,000-yard seasons back-to-back proves that he is the best wide receiver Jackson has had in his Baltimore career. The chemistry he has with No. 8 is without question part of the reason why he was extended.
Flowers is not a Justin Jefferson-level talent at the position, but he is the best pass-catcher on the Ravens roster and one of the most talented the franchise has ever seen despite his short career. By the end of his Ravens career, Flowers could set individual records that might take years to fall.
