Here are the official power rankings for Ebony Bird. Power rankings do not predict the outcome of a season, they simply rank the teams from 1-32; 1 being the strongest and 32 the lowly of the low. It would be great for you to leave critiques and your own power rankings by commenting at the bottom. Well, here ya go:
Pittsburgh Steelers- As much as this pains me to do, it has to be done. They are the world champions and until they are knocked off, they are number one. If defenses truly do win championships, then this is a team [...]

Mr. Andrew Russell Bennett. Four sets of double letters, how peculiar.
Besides my trivial observation, Drew Bennett is likely to become the next Ravens receiver after Derrick Mason announced his retirement last week. Harbaugh has been speaking to Mason about returning, but in the wake of his declaration, the team tried out four receivers today, with Bennett and D.J. Hackett the only two that had significant NFL pass-catching experience. Former Detroit Lion receiver Chris Hannon and undrafted rookie free agent Justin Brown from Hampton also worked out with Bennett and Hackett, although Bennett was the only wideout to stay and [...]

The NFL Draft is going into prime-time, as this post from Brian at Phin Phanatic says.
The NFL has a long rich tradition of being an event. Marketing and broadcasting has made the NFL Draft an event as well and up until today, it was a two day feast of hours upon hours of listening to analysts critique the top players drafted. Over the span of Saturday to Sunday, the NFL Draft is watched by more people than some baseball games. This year, that is all about to change as the NFL has decided to go prime time.
Two seasons ago the NFL decided [...]

Michael Vick is out of federal custody, and in his first night, he took a night out (hence the title) at a strip club with NBA over-the-hill free agent Allen Iverson. Read this post at The Big Lead for a more detailed account of his night, while I continue writing the boring Michael Vick news and my opinion about this whole situation. This incident comes in the same week that news came out that Vick would be meeting with commissioner Roger Goodell soon about reinstatement. There is always an option to go the UFL, with former Bills 1st round pick [...]

Madden 10 is out. Or maybe it’s Madden 2010. Whatever you want to call it. And with a new Madden game comes new player ratings. The only reason I found this blog last October was by searching for Joe Flacco’s Madden rating, and now I’m the lead blogger on the site, and I’m sure other people have stories about how Madden has changed something about their fanhood. It’s the world’s best selling video game, and in England, once I mentioned American Football, people asked if I played “that Madden game.” Now to the numbers…
The Ravens have an overall team rating [...]

Big news for the Ravens offense. Since losing Derrick Mason to retirement, fans have been asking who will step up and be the #1. Even if Mark Clayton or Demetrius Williams is underwhelming, the team is having four wideouts work out on Friday. On the team’s official site, Eric DeCosta said that former Seahawk and Panther D.J. Hackett would be one of the four. The Nashville City Paper has also reported that former Titan Drew Bennett is among the contenders. No details on the other two have been released, but just remember that Marvin Harrison is still on the market, with [...]

Pro Bowl linebacker Terrell “T-Sizzle” Suggs signed a lucrative 6 year 63 million dollar deal making him the highest paid LB to ever take the field. He signed a 33.1 million dollar signing bonus, second to only Peyton Manning, star QB of the Indianapolis Colts.
If Suggs and your Baltimore Ravens did not reach a deal by 4 p.m. today he would have had to play another year under his 10.7 million a year contract and become a free agent the next year. Suggs has been the Ravens’ franchise player for the past two seasons.
Suggs, a 7 year veteran started his career [...]

Hey, the internet out here has been unpredictable. I’m finally on, but I only have 10 minutes. You’ve met the new guy, he’ll be a big help, and is an incredibly good blogger. We haven’t figured out if either of us will have a specialty, but it means more posts, and better posts. With this, subscribe to the RSS feed, follow the blog on Twitter, just find a way to stay updated with new posts.
I’ll have the interviews with some players and media types coming up, and more on that later, also. Anyways, I’ll be back in full swing next [...]

As Ravens fans we realize how great Derrick Mason truly was and is. Finally, people outside of Baltimore and Tennessee have realized how truly underrated this guy is. The Football Outsiders number crunching gurus have come up with a list that contains the 25 most underrated players since 2000. Here is how they brilliantly reasoned for D-Mase to be tops on the list:
Mason has seven different seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards and ranks seventh overall in total wide receiver DYAR for the decade. He ranked among the top 20 wide receivers in DYAR (total value) for five straight [...]
