Predictor
This should be a good game. Hopefully. If the game this year is even close to as exciting as last year’s, it should be great. I’ve decided that I will watch it, at a campus party we’re having here in Piscataway. Here’s my predicted rundown of the game: 7-0: ARZ-Warner hits Tim Hightower in the backfield, and Timmy runs 32 yards for the TD. 7-3: ARZ-Jeff Reed hits a chip shot field goal, after then Steeler run down the clock and stall in the red zone. 10-7: PIT-A Warner fumble is returned for a TD. HALFTIME 14-10: ARZ-A pass interference [...]
Season Withdrawal Anyone?
So lately I haven’t been feeling much motivation to blog, and have been spewing out these short, lame posts. I think that is because of the withdrawal I’m feeling after this great season. Part of it could be that the Steelers are in the big game instead of the Ravens, but part of it also has to be Super Bowl week. It’s so annoying how much coverage goes into a few press conferences. All I care about it is the game, and that’s not even exciting me that much. Soaking in the season, I’m really starting to like Jim [...]
If You Didn’t Know…
If you didn’t know, Fansided has added a new blog, called NFL News & Rumors, and it has tons of good information. If you go to fansided.com, the link should be on their homepage. The link is http://nflnr.com/. Definitely go check it out, it’s a great site.
A Bowl of Super Proportions
The Super Bowl. Maybe it’s because the Ravens were so close, but this is the least interested I’ve ever been in a Super Bowl. I care less who wins, and I can’t believe I’m saying that, because I get tons of joy when the Steelers flop on their faces. The Cardinals are a good story, sure, but nothing is incredibly special about them. They have also had a very easy road in the playoffs. Atlanta and Philly are not teams of Pittsburgh’s caliber. With that said, I fell the Cardinals have a good shot at winning. Believe it or [...]
The Offseason: D-Line
The Ravens defensive line went through a total transformation. Haloti Ngata played like an All-Pro and is looking like he will eventually be the best defensive player on the team, which says alot. Kelly Gregg went on the IR before the season, and the line didn’t miss a beat. Justin Bannan got his fair share of tackles converting from tackle to end, and Trevor Pryce added 4.5 sacks and tons of pressure. The main obstacle in the offseason in this department is what to do with Kelly Gregg. Ngata has played the end before, but he seems almost too good [...]
A Year In Review
Just 367 days ago, an unknown special teams coach from the Philidelphia Eagles, whose only known connection to the Ravens was his brother’s playing days, was introduced as Head Coach of the Baltimore Ravens. When I saw the news on Sportscenter that night, and read more about him, he seemed unexperienced, but still could become a solid coach. I liked that he was young, and had already gotten an NFL Coordinator job. Even with all the pros, I thought, ehh, 7-9, it’ll be a rebuilding year. But John Harbaugh wouldn’t buy into that. Harbaugh, whose name no one knew how [...]
New Poll
Hey everyone, There is a new poll up about the kick return position. Usually I wouldn’t announce a poll, but there hasn’t been a new one in about a month, so please vote.
The Offseason: Special Teams
So, I’m going right to special teams because I want to keep the big prime positions for the Ravens until closer to the draft and free agency. At kicker, the Ravens look solid. Matt Stover has an expiring contract, but is expected to play at least one more year, and Steve Hauschka already has hit a 54-yard field goal in game-time pressure and has kicked off solidly the whole year. Sam Koch is the best punter in the NFL, in my opinion. He continues to improve, and is an ace at placing opponents in close to their end zone. [...]
The Offseason: Quarterbacks
This is an idea lovingly ripped from PhinPhanatic, the FSB Dolphins Blog, but it is a great idea. Each week or maybe more frequently, we’ll take a look at each position and the Ravens’ nand issues facing it, like players that are becoming free agents, or being let go. The first position we will look at is quarterback. Right now, the starting spot is pretty much cemented for Joe Flacco, but the NFL is a league of injuries. I believe that every team that wants to be a contender needs a capable, semi-experienced backup QB. The Ravens are losing QBs [...]
Happy Steeler Fan
So the commenter HAPPYSTEELERFAN is very dimwitted. He thinks Troy Polamalu is better than Ed Reed, he thinks Ben Roethlisberger is going to the Hall of Fame, and stupidest of all, he thinks that the Steelers teams of the 2000′s are a dynasty. One Super Bowl and maybe another? When the Patriots have dominated the league for the past 5 years or so? Yeah, ok. The Ravens have just as many Super Bowl wins as the Steelers since 2000, and ours wasn’t against the Seahawks. Steelers fans are so lame.
