“Anything can happen on any given Sunday.” We’ve heard it time and time again and this week is no exception. The Baltimore Ravens carried there poor offensive performance from last week, back to Baltimore where they faced the Arizona Cardinals. Inactives today for the Ravens include Danny Gorrer, Chykie Brown, Anthony Allen, Daniel Ellerbe, Sergio Kindle, Lee Evans, and Ben Grubbs. Over the years, Todd Heap became a prominent figure in Baltimore. Known for his great heart and play on the field, Heap built up a great report with his fans. Bernard Pollard was fined $10,000 for unnecessary roughness. Specifically, on a pass play, he struck a defenseless player in the head and neck area. – AFC spokesman Corry Rush Bernard Pollard has been issued a $10,000 fine by the NFL for a supposed “illegal” hit on Jacksonville Jaguars running back Deji Karim. Pollard received a 15 yard penalty for the hit which was criticized by many including the Monday Night Football announcers. More after the jump…

It’s no secret that the wide receiver position has been troublesome for the Baltimore Ravens. In an attempt to fix that, the Ravens drafted Torrey Smith and traded for Lee Evans this off-season. I shared my quick reaction following the loss on Monday and was pretty heated. I’ve followed the 24 hour rule and let it digest before I wrote anything else about it. To begin, let’s talk about who’s not to blame. The Ravens defense played lights out. Even though that’s expected when they’re facing an offense led by a rookie quarterback, it should be noted. Allowing only 12 points in the game and just over 200 yards, the Ravens defense did their job and gave the offense more than enough opportunities to win the game. Terrell Suggs was pretty upset in how the Ravens lost that game and his point is a valid one. Ray Rice is without a doubt the Ravens best offensive player and probably one of best players in the league currently. Given that, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense that he only carried the ball seven times. Yes, he had two uncharacteristic fumbles but that doesn’t mean you should completely abandon your best player. The proven formula for winning on the road is good defense and a good running game. That was one of the most despicable displays of football I’ve ever seen. The Ravens’ defense provided the offense with plenty of opportunities but things just didn’t start clicking. It was a disturbing thing to see. The offensive line was in shambles and the receivers couldn’t get an inch of separation against a Jaguars D that played lights out.
