Ray Rice Should Have A Big Game On The Ground

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

Ray Rice is one of the best players in the game today. Whether it’s receiving or running, Ray Rice always piles up the yardage. But this week, the yardage total may be titled one way.

Jacksonville Jaguars Fire Head Coach Jack Del Rio

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

Head coach Jack Del Rio has been fired after nine seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. This comes after a 20-13 loss to the Houston Texans. Defensive coordinator Mel Tucker will take over as head coach for the meantime. The Jaguars have struggled for the past couple of seasons and haven’t made the playoffs since 2007. Del Rio’s job security has been hanging by a thread recently and this move doesn’t surprise. Jack Del Rio is one of six former defensive coaches for the Baltimore Ravens that later became a head coach in the NFL. The list includes Rex Ryan (Jets), Mike [...]

Ravens Use Long Week To Recover From Injuries

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

The one perk about playing on Thursday night is that you get 10 days to rest up and prepare for the next game. The Baltimore Ravens got that much needed rest and hope to get some players back for Sunday’s matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

John’s Ravens Defeat Brother Jim’s 49ers In Harbaugh Bowl

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Whether the coaches say so or not, there was a lot more on the line than just a football game this Thanksgiving. This was for family bragging rights. This was for pride. In a largely defensive battle, the Baltimore Ravens were able to defeat the San Francisco 49ers 16-6. The game was led by Baltimore’s front seven who held Frank Gore to 39 rushing yards and tied a franchise record with nine sacks. T-Sizzle had three of those and earned MVP status for the game, winning the fabled Pudding Pie award.

Ravens vs. 49ers: Thanksgiving Edition

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Welcome to the Thanksgiving edition of game day at Ebony Bird. I hope that everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving as we prepare for the game tonight. Make sure to kick back, crack open another brewski, eat some turkey, and watch what should be a great, hard fought game. Unfortunately for Ravens fans, Ray Lewis will not play tonight due to his toe injury. He was listed as questionable and had high hopes to play. This is a big blow to the Ravens’ defense who will be without their heart and soul in tonight’s matchup. Brendon Ayanbadejo will take Ray’s spot [...]

Gresham the Whiner

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

Let’s Get Salty… After the game Jermaine Gresham whined to the media that the Bengals are better than the Ravens (and the Steelers too).  REALLY!?  Beat us.  You can say all you want to keep your ego in tact and a young locker room’s confidence up, but don’t kid yourself.  To win in the NFL you have to make plays – regardless of talent.  The Ravens did and you didn’t.

Ravens Win – “Victory!”

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Watching the Ravens this week created two very different emotions.  On the one hand, we let up approx. 400 yards passing to rookie Andy Dalton — man that guy is a freak; what accuracy!  He’ll scare me for the next 15 years for sure.  But who cares about that, we won! We won against the Bengals! It means a lot because unbeknownst to us fans they have been a major thorn in our sides beating us three times in the last three years. Because the Steelers have been the team winning the division and making super bowl runs, we forget [...]

What will the Ravens do without Lewis on Thanksgiving?

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

When anyone thinks of the Ravens, they think of Ray Lewis. The twelve time pro bowler is the unspoken leader of this number one defense and his potential absence will be felt on Thursday night. If he can’t go, the Ravens must do as they did last week against the Bengals. Even if he can go, it is certain he will not be one-hundred percent, yet his presence on the field is unmistakable. Lewis is better than anything else the Ravens have to offer. The Ravens would potentially sub out Lewis more during the game as well. This is not [...]

Purple Passion: Joe Flacco’s Emergence

AUTHOR: | IN: Blog News, Games, NFL, Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Cincinnati Bengals came to Baltimore seeking a victory to propel them past the Ravens in the AFC North.  Instead, Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens pulled out a nail biting, 31-24 victory before a frenzied crowd.  The iconic leader of the Ravens has always been Ray Lewis, but now it looks like Joe Cool is beginning to morph into the quarterback that so many fans have hoped for over the past several years.
