Vonta Leach Thoughts From Toro Times

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

When Baltimore signed former Texans fullback Vonta Leach this morning, I reached out to Joe Owens, Fansided’s Houston Texan’s blogger, and asked for his thoughts on the Ravens acquiring Leach. He had this to say about Vonta: Vonta Leach won’t be easily replaced. The Texans have been grooming Tight end James Casey in case this very thing happened. They also signed two undrafted rookie free agent fullbacks all in an attempt to find Leach’s replacement. While these guys may be able to physically lay down a crushing block to spring Arian Foster. What they won’t be able to replace, at least [...]

Todd Heap Signs With Arizona

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

The long time tightend of the Ravens has signed a two year deal with the Arizona Cardinals. Todd Heap will bring his veteran presense to the team and provide newly acquired quarterback Kevin Kolb with a safety blanket. Todd has been with the Ravens since 2001 and it’s hard to see an influential member of the Baltimore Ravens move on. What are your thoughts? Please post them in the comments below. And while your at it, please follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook.

Finally, the Ravens Join In on the Free Agency Frenzy

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Ravens have signed their first free agent that wasn’t one of their own. I’ve been waiting anxiously and impatiently for them to do something besides re-signing Yanda and Carr (even though that’s great news for us). And today, I turn on the TV to see them making the headlines on NFL Network for signing someone instead of releasing someone. That guy that they signed is fullback Vonta Leach from the Houston Texans. He’s the best FB in the NFL, which may not mean too much except he’s going to block like crazy this season which, in turn, means that [...]

My Thoughts On Kelly Gregg Joining The Kansas City Chiefs

AUTHOR: | IN: Free Agency | COMMENTS: None Yet

I sent Patrick Allen, FanSided’s Kansas City Chiefs blogger, my thoughts on DT Kelly Gregg signing with the Chiefs. Here they are below: A lot of Baltimore fans were upset when they released Derrick Mason, Todd Heap, Kelly Gregg, and Willis McGahee earlier this week. To be honest, I wasn’t. They’ve all showed their age as of late and I think their best years are behind them. Kelly Gregg is one of those guys that will do what he needs to do, but you won’t hear his name for any spectacular plays. He’s a space eater, that’s his job. He has [...]

Ravens Re-sign CB Chris Carr

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Baltimore Ravens have signed cornerback Chris Carr to a four year deal. he was one of the Ravens three free agent corners and they are lucky to retain one of them. He has also played for the Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Titans. Josh Wilson signed with the Redskins a few days ago and Fabian Washington is still on the market. Carr is a great nickel corner and should get some reps behind Jimmy Smith, Dominique Foxworth, and Lardarius Webb. Chiefs Sign Kelly Gregg To A One Year Deal

AUTHOR: | IN: Free Agency | COMMENTS: None Yet

Baltimore Ravens Veteran Kelly Gregg has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. The 34 year old veteran has been a longtime face in the city of Baltimore and it’s sad to see him pack up his bags and leave. Kelly is getting older and I think it was his time to move on. His best years are behind him and I’m in no way devastated by the move. Last year’s second round pick Terrence Cody should take over the starting nose tackle job now that Gregg is gone. Nnamdi Asomugha To The Philadelphia Eagles

AUTHOR: | IN: Free Agency | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s official! After months of speculation, the Philadelphia Eagles finally land the biggest fish on the free agent market. Nnamdi Asomugha will join the Eagles. The Eagles acquired Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in a trade with Arizona the other day and now they land the best shutdown corner on the market. It’s a five year $60 million deal with $25 million guaranteed. Nnamdi flirted with the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Jets and it seemed that him joining the Jets was guaranteed. Suddenly, both teams vanished and the Eagles quickly jumped in. It was a crazy five minutes and my palms [...]

Willis McGahee Reaches Agreement With Denver Broncos

AUTHOR: | IN: Ravens | COMMENTS: None Yet

Former Baltimore Ravens running back Willis McGahee has reached a three year, $7.5 million agreement. Denver has been looking for another running back because they were disappointed in Knowshon Moreno’s performance. Willis McGahee was cut earlier this week along with veterans Derrick Mason, Todd Heap, and Kelly Gregg. The Ravens plan to resign those three but they were not expected to bring back McGahee. This comes as no surprise as talks of Willis headed there sprouted earlier this week. Best of luck to McGahee as he looks to get more carries in Denver.
